When I began this series in 2009 the issue was warrior suicide (We Killed More Of US Than They Did, 2).

Now we kill more of our own by mass murders, committed by white supremacists and other Despotic Minority Groups, than any other country on Earth (How To Identify The Despotic Minority, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12).

A solution does not come easily to us because our cultural DNA has the violence gene turn on and the knob is broken off ("the [solution] pump don't work cause the vandals took the handles" - Dylan).

And so, nothing has changed except that mass shootings and overdoses have overtaken suicides.

Records are being set:
"Premature deaths from suicide, alcohol and drug overdose have reached an all-time high, and U.S. states are losing ground on key measures related to life expectancy, according to a report by the Commonwealth Fund, a healthcare advocacy group."
(ABC News). The controversy is not about whether these trends are real, no, the controversy is about why it is happening.

One would think that There Oughta Be a Law! applies here, but surprise:
There's no domestic terrorism law — we just treat it as either a hate crime or some other sort of criminal charge," said Clint Watts, a senior fellow at the Foreign Policy Research Institute. But white supremacists "are following an ideology the same way that other violent extremists that the U.S. designates as terrorists follow ideologies."
(NBC News). No-brainers are not supposed to apply to mass murder scenarios, but it would seem that it is a no-brainer that there should be domestic terrorism laws so that the FBI feds could put the handle back on the solution pump ("the [solution] pump don't work cause the vandals took the handles" - Dylan).

So, the bottom line question is "who are the vandals that took the handles?"
